Slow Food That Nourishes

As a reaction to the fast food industry and its ill effects on our health, the "slow food" movement has evolved. It's not a new concept, of course. Slow food is how we have nourished our families since the beginning of time, but that was when there weren't any "quick" options.

Life in general used to be slower. The fast pace of our society is, in part, due to all the demands we place upon ourselves in this modern, technological age.

However, I think the place where we really suffer while we push the fast forward button on life is our spirituality. A heart-nourishing relationship with God cannot be maintained on drive-through prayers and watered down, previously frozen Bible study.

I challenge you to take the time today to really savor the truth of God's Word and to kneel before Him in the midst of busyness to digest those truths. When it comes to loving God, there are no shortcuts.
