A Little Reminiscing (and a Freebie for you!)

One of the highlights of visiting my grandmother in Ohio as a little girl was listening to her radio station. Every afternoon and on Saturday mornings, there were stories. I remember curling up by the radio and tracing the outline of the speakers with my finger while the news played, just waiting. Then, the music would cue, "It's the Sugar Creek Gang, walking down the road. The Sugar Creek Gang, that we all know..." My siblings and I would settle in for 30 minutes of adventure narrated by gang member, Bill Collins, now all grown up.

Although my kids have a few dog-eared copies of Sugar Creek Gang books that originally belonged to someone older than me, I had pretty much filed the audio version in my nostalgia file along with Rainbow Brite and Teddy Ruxpin. I'm giving you all a good idea of how old I am! Yes, I was an '80's child. Anyone remember jelly shoes? But I digress.

So, you can imagine how I was excited when Lorrie Flem offered us Gabby Moms the chance to review Sugar Creek Gang cds! Bill Collins is still narrating, although the music is a little different now. After investigating, I found out Beloved Books carries all 36 dramatized books on 72 cds.

Maybe you are not as old as me, or maybe you never had the advantage of visiting a grandmother near a Moody station. If you want to see what Sugar Creek Gang is all about, you can listen to a complete story here for free!

If you like them and want to have a CD or two (or 72!) for your family, you can get $12 off each CD set you order by heading over to Beloved Books and entering this code: Lorrie12

I hope you enjoy them as much as I have. Let's pass on the tradition to the next generation!

Disclaimer: I received this CD set free of charge in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are uniquely my own (as always!). I received no other compensation in exchange for this review.
