Warning: This post is intended for adult, married women. If you are a young lady living at home, please check with your parents before reading and following the links in this post.
Today's link up will be a little bit different. I have something that's been burdening my heart lately regarding marriage. I've put off saying anything about it because, well, it's a delicate subject and so many bloggers have already dealt with it so well. This is the post where Jennifer ventures into the "taboo" subject among married women. Yep....that one.
This isn't a subject we like to read about as Christian women. We like to just get
the "fun" things that pertain to our life practically and make us feel
happy. However, I know that these kind of things that seem to have
"popped up out of nowhere" have actually been hidden in hearts and homes
for a long time in order for them to be so popular now. Feel free to
skip these links if you must, but know that Satan is out to destroy our
marriages in whatever way he can. I feel I need to be faithful to the small group of women who read here.
We have long expected our husbands to abstain from pornography. We are warned to keep filters on our computers and be accountable. We take extra care to avoid the magazine aisle when he is with us, and we avoid allowing certain catalogs into our house to protect him and our marriage. We dress modestly and expect him to look away when someone else doesn't. This is good.
Why, then, am I receiving invitations in my home school moms group to a book club on the latest women porn wrapped in the binding of a novel? And why are my church-going Facebook friends getting groups of women together to view the latest male stripper movie?
Before sharing some heart-felt thoughts of other Christian bloggers who are taking a stand against this trend, I want to share two messages with you:
1. The Bible teaches that marriage is created by God as one man plus one woman ONLY for life. That means that no other man or woman should be in the marriage relationship EVEN if they are fashioned out of fantasy or viewed on a screen.
2. We must safeguard our marriages as diligently as we want our husbands to do so. If need be, set up accountability and blocks on your Kindle, smartphone and your own computer. If certain friends are pressuring you to get involved in the latest novel or movie porn, you may need to make a statement or end the friendship. Yes, it's that serious!
Now, if you wonder what in the world I'm talking about, here are some great links for you today:

ReplyDeleteI haven't seen any of the other posts....but I am glad that you are (all) trying to hold other Christian women accountable!
Thanks, Kelly! We as women must band together and stand up for what is right. I believe that is part of the Titus 2 mandate. Blessings on you today!
DeleteThank you for including my post among the great Christian women's you listed. I feel honored.
